Additionally, preparing fresh raw food at home should be done with great care as when done improperly, can expose both your pet and human family to bacterial & pathogen risks.

Is Freeze Dried Food safe?

Yes, we take food safety very seriously! Our freeze-dried raw food goes through HPP (high pressure processing) to naturally destroy harmful bacteria while assuring the food’s nutritional value is not affected. We want to assure that pet parents can feel confident that they are always bringing a safe product into their homes.

What quality of ingredients are you using?
We use nothing but the highest quality ingredients because we wouldn’t expect to feed our dogs anything less. Our ingredients are fresh and humanely sourced from USA suppliers from USDA, pasture raised meats . Additionally, what’s important is what we do not use - nothing artificial, no fillers, added antibiotics, flavorings, grain, gluten, synthetic vitamins or rendered by-products.
Where do you source your meats & ingredients from, where is Little Hunter made?

All of our meats and ingredients are humanely sourced from and made in the United States!

Why include fruits & vegetables?

We believe that supplementing our dogs’ diet with fruits and vegetables can greatly benefit your furry pal. Fruits and vegetables are full of disease-fighting antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that give them a nutrition boost and balance out our recipe’s nutrition with our nutritionists.

Specifically, the Antioxidants from fruit and vegetables are powerful at fighting abnormal cell growth and the free radicals your dog’s body naturally produces and counteracting the damage these free radicals do to your dog’s healthy cells. Antioxidants are also known for fighting against cancers and boosting your dog’s immunity, so they are less likely to become ill. Adding fresh fruits and vegetables to your dog’s diet is an easy way to fight disease naturally.

How are your recipes formulated?
We’ve partnered with experts in veterinary care and pet nutrition to take care of your little hunter every step of the way. Each of our formulas have been carefully picked to ensure optimal nutrition and a balanced diet.
Texture and size?
Our bites are crunchy, small, whole bits (not soft) and great for smaller dogs. If your dog prefers softer or moist we'd recommend trying about half a cup of warm water for one cup for LH. Let it sit for 10 minutes
Should I consult my vet before feeding my dog Little Hunter?

Consulting a vet is not necessary, but we encourage you to talk to your vet about what you’ re feeding your little hunter - they often ask anyway! The key detail to share with the vet is that Little Hunter is freeze dried (uncooked) raw, primarily animal ingredient (~90%) and nutritionally balanced with fresh vegetables and fruits by board-certified veterinary nutritionists.

Are your recipes AAFCO compliant?
Yes, our food meets AAFCO guidelines!
How long will Little Hunter food last?
Little Hunter food is freeze-dried without added preservatives and lasts up to 2 years if stored properly in a cool, dry place. Once opened a bag should be used within 30 days.

Feeding Questions

How do I prepare the food?
Unlike frozen raw food packets, Little Hunter freeze-dried food comes ready to serve and can be stored in any cool, dry place up to the package's expiration date. There’s no need to refrigerate or freeze! Simply measure the amount of food you serve your dog for each meal, pour into your bowl and enjoy! If your dog prefers moist over crunchy you can add some warm water (1 part water to 2 parts food) and let sit for 10 minutes.
How much food should I be giving my dog?
Each dog is different, and will depend on a variety of factors including age, weight, and activity. Please refer to our feeding calculator as a starting point and adjust based on how your dog is doing.
How many cups/ bag? How long will a bag last?
Each bag contains about 8-9 cups/ bag. Keep in mind that about 98% of the water is removed during the freeze-drying process making for a denser food. About 1 cup of Little Hunter freeze-dried raw is equal to about 3 cups of fresh food

How do I sign up for a Little Hunter Plan?
Explore our menu page to learn more about our offerings, (free - range chicken, grass - fed beef, wild rabbit, and grass - fed lamb), add your selection to your cart, head to check out and make sure to sign up for a recurring subscription!
Can I purchase Little Hunter without a subscription?
Yes! Just choose the single purchase option and come back and buy when you’re ready. You can also cancel, pause or modify your subscription at any time from the account portal or asking us (we’re happy to do it for you).
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel, modify or postpone your subscription at any time from our account portal in the upper right of our website at any time. If you have any trouble feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to help modify or cancel for you.
How much does my plan cost?
Plans start at ~ $4 - 5 / day. Each dog is different, and your plan’s pricing will depend on a variety of factors including age, weight, and activity. Please refer to our recommended feeding volume by dog size (in lbs) above to see how much to serve your dog on a daily basis.

We offer a discount on your first order to try and a satisfaction guarantee (we'll refund the cost of anything your pup doesn't like)!

Shipping Questions

How do you ship and where do you deliver?
We ship 2nd Day USPS Priority Mail to all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Guam and delivery takes 1-3 business days.
How do I know when I’ll get my order?
You’ll be notified via email about each upcoming order prior to billing and shipment to give you a chance to modify, delay or cancel. You will also receive shipping updates via email including tracking.

Account Questions

I forgot my password - how can I reset it to log into my Customer Account?
You can reset your account password by clicking Forgot Your Password? From the Account portal page. You’ll receive a reset link in your email inbox where you can then input a new password. We’re also happy to help - just ping us on chat or send us an email and we can resent that email for you
How will I be billed for my plan?
If you are signing up for a subscription we will use the billing method you choose to complete your first order (i.e.PayPal, credit card etc.). You’ ll be notified via email about each order prior to billing and shipment to give you time to change, pause or cancel or update billing information in our account portal.
Can I cancel or reactivate my subscription anytime?
Yes, you can easily pause, cancel or reactivate your subscription anytime in your Account portal.
What do I do if I’m traveling?
Little Hunter food does not require refrigeration or but should be kept in a cool, covered area unexposed to the sun/ heat. If you would like to pause your subscription or move up the date of the next shipment - all of that can be done from the Customer Portal, or we’re happy to help do that for you by Chat or Email during business hours, M-F.
